Advisory Board Members

The Advisory Board of Dhahran Ahliyya Schools is a group of dedicated volunteer members of the Eastern Province community. The Advisory Board works at a strategic level to provide advice, support and stability for the continuous operation and development of the school. Their combined talents are focused on developing and monitoring the long and short range strategic plans of the school. It works closely with the founders of the school Mr. Khalid Alturki and Dr. Sally Alturki to ensure that  

“Each year we will be better than we were the year before.”

Mr. Khalid Ali Alturki is the Founder and Chairman of Khalid Ali Alturki & Sons (Alturki) which is a leading family owned investment and development company that was established in Saudi Arabia in 1975. Its subsidiaries and joint venture companies are involved in contracting, trading, manufacturing and consulting focused specifically on the construction & infrastructure, building materials, real-estate, oil field services & renewable energy, environmental, Information and Telecommunication Technologies and general industrial sectors primarily in Saudi Arabia and neighboring Arab countries. Mr. Alturki also invests globally through his offices in the UK andIndia.

abdulazizAbdulaziz A. Alnaim, CFA

Abdulaziz is President of Mayar Capital Management and Manager of Mayar Fund, a hedge fund that invests in global equity markets. For the seven years prior to starting Mayar, Abdulaziz served as Chairman, CEO and Fund Manager at Yareem Ltd., an investment company which he managed using a disciplined value investing approach. He was also Chairman of Yareem Arabia, a multi-unit restaurant company based in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Abdulaziz is a CFA charter-holder and is a member of CFA Bahrain. Abdulaziz is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Young Businessmen Council at Asharqia Chamber of Commerce. He holds a BS in Management Science with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Rami Khalid Alturki is the President of Khalid Ali Alturki & sons (Alturki) which is a leading family owned investment and development company that has been operating in Saudi Arabia since 1975. Its subsidiaries and joint venture companies are focused specifically on the construction & infrastructure, building materials, real-estate, oil field services & renewable energy, information and communication technologies and general industrial sectors primarily in Saudi Arabia and neighboring Arab countries. In his capacity as President, he also holds directorship and chairmanship positions in the group’s various joint ventures and subsidiaries.

Kathy Khayatt

Kathy Khayatt is an accomplished educator and worked in schools since 1989 and is now K-12 principal at Advanced Learning Schools in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. She serves as a team leader on CIS accreditation visits and also as a team leader and consultant for the IB Middle Years Programme. Kathy provides independent consultation work for schools in the region in the areas of curriculum development, differentiation, and assessment. She has a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the American University of Beirut and is a graduate the PTC Essential Skills Program.

Her encounters with school accreditation and authorizations started with CIS/Middle-States re-accreditation process and later worked on IB authorizations (PYP-MYP-DP).
Very early on she realized that her passion within schools was deeply rooted in curriculum design and development as well as Staff development. Reflecting on this throughout the years she realized that the reason for this passion and commitment lay in the fact that the students’ wellbeing should always be the center of all decisions made in schools, and the integrity of the teaching and learning process should be key.

naderNader  AL Douhan

Mr. Nader Douhan Al Douhan is the Manager of Home Ownership Community Development Department in Saudi Aramco. His responsibility includes overseeing the development of Saudi Aramco’s mega home ownership programs from inception to completion. Mr. Al Douhans’s role extends to managing the operation, maintenance, and projects of Saudi Aramco’s 141 built schools, including Dhahran Ahliyya Schools.

Mr. Al Douhan earned his BSc in Petroleum Engineering from University of Tulsa and holds 20 years of experience in Saudi Aramco's upstream sector. He held numerous leadership positions in R&D and production operations, including Chief Technologist of Saudi Aramco's EXPEC Advanced Research Center and Manager of Production Engineering and Well Services in Northern Area Oil Operations.

Mr. Al Douhan attended key management programs including Saudi Aramco Management Development Seminar (SAMDS) with Penn State University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) and the Saudi Engineering Council (SEC).

abdulalla2Abdulla Mohammed AI Zamil

Abdulla M. AI Zamil is a member of the Board of Directors of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (Zamil Industrial). He was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zamil Industrial in October 2009. He acted as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zamil Industrial since January 2004. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Zamil Air Conditioners and Zamillndustrial's Shared Services. He began his professional career in 1987 with Zamil Air Conditioners as an Industrial Engineer and subsequently Vice President, Sales & Marketing and Purchasing & Materials Management.

majedMajid F. Al-Ghaslan

Majid F. Al-Ghaslan is a recognized technology and thought leader within Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabia. Majid has extensive experience leading high-visibility, mission-critical areas for notable organizations within the Technology, Oil & Gas, and Higher Education industries. He was a founding member of the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST) and served as interim CIO responsible for the development, support, and operation of innovative technology solutions and services that advance learning and discovery at KAUST.

nabeelDr.Nabeel M. Al-Amudi

Nabeel Mohamed Al-Amudi is the President of the Saudi Port Authority having been appointed by Royal Order on January 31, 2015 to the rank of 'Excellency'. As President of Saudi Port Authority, Nabeel overseas the management and regulation of nine ports across the Kingdom. He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of United Arab Shipping Company – the 12th largest container shipping liner in the world and the Chairman of Tabadul – a government owned company tasked with digitizing the import and export processes in the Kingdom.
Prior to this appointment, Nabeel served in many managerial and advisory roles within Saudi Aramco. His last position was President of Aramco Services Company (ASC) in Houston which overseas Saudi Aramco's operations in North America. Prior to this, he was President of Saudi Refining, Inc. which oversaw the company's investment in Motiva, a 50-50 refining and marketing joint venture with Shell in the United States.
From 2009 to 2011, Nabeel served as the head of the Long Range Planning Department at Saudi Aramco and spearheaded the team that conceptualized and developed the Company's Accelerated Transformation Program with the aim of moving the Company to a fully integrated energy Company by 2020. He was also responsible for developing the Company's five-years during this period. From 2002 to 2009, Nabeel worked in the Company's Law Department and negotiated many key transactions, including the Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), the renewal of the 2006 Saudi Aramco Revolving Facility and the first Saudi Aramco independent power project (Saudi Aramco's Co-gen project).
Nabeel graduated from Harvard Law School with a JD in 2001 and earned a BS in Chemical Engineering (with distinction) from Stanford University in 1995. He has served on the board of trustees (as Vice Chair) at the Awty International School in Houston. Nabeel was elected as Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum in 2014.
He is also a proud graduate of DAS's 6th graduating class.

abdullaAbdullah A. Ghabbani

Abdullah A. Ghabbani is the Director of the Local Workforce Development Department in Saudi Aramco. His responsibilities include the development of specialized vocational training academies to support the Saudi Arabia major energy sector companies needs of qualified Saudi nationals. Currently his organization overseeing a total of 11 specialized academies, with a total capacity of more than 10,000 students covering the market needs for construction, downstream, quality, drilling and other majors. In addition, Abdullah’s organization is the Champion of Saudi Aramco Saudization KPIs for service and construction contractors.
Abdullah earned his BSc in Mechanical engineering from the King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, and holds more than 30 years’ experience in Saudi Aramco. His career started with Yanbu Refinery maintenance organization, followed with long experience in several leadership positions, including Loss Prevention and Fire and Technical Security. In 2011, Abdullah was assigned as the Manager of Saudi Aramco Central Community Services Department, managing one of the largest housing and community operations in the Kingdom. Throughout Abdullah’s career he has covered as the Director of Saudi Aramco Industrial Training Department.
Abdullah is the General Secretary of the Energy Sector Training Board and serves as a member on several training academies Board of Trustees Committees.
